Bowmer + Kirkland - construction of a John Lewis and Waitrose in Basingstoke
Commercial challenge
When construction of a new John Lewis and Waitrose was nearing completion in Basingstoke, out of hours works were required to hit the deadlines. To help manage local communications and pave the way to additional working hours, including overnight, Bowmer + Kirkland called in the Gough Property and Construction Communications team.
Human approach
Knowing how disruptive overnight and out of hours works would be to the local community and traffic flow using the main road alongside the development, Gough implemented a proactive communications strategy to ensure neighbours were informed, assured and able to contact members of the team at any time, day or night.
We worked with the contractor to ensure disruption was kept to an absolute minimum by always being there for neighbours and maintaining an empathetic approach to reactive communications.
Results
Gough helped pave the way for successful completion of the building works and the stores opened on time to local celebration.
· Generated and implemented clear communications strategy
